WEST COAST FEDERATED CLUB
ACCEPTANCE TO MEMBERSHIP

WELLINGTON, December 1
'Acceptance to membership was ’granted the West Coast (South Island) ‘ i-,Federated Aero Club, incorporated \by the council of the New Zealand ■Aero Club to-day.'" The constitutent clubs' of.the new area with, the present strength are Westport 33, Greymouth 152, Ikaiiiatu.V 23, Hokitika, 47, South ' Westland. 25, a total of 280. The chairman (Mr Spence), made it clear that the West Coast Federated Club was the last that would bo admitted to membership, the policy of tile Defence Department being to limit the number of federated clubs to ten. It was originally eight.
For geographical reasons the West Coast club was desirable, but now that New Zealand-* was completely covered there was no possibility of the Department recognising any other federated club. ■ ; -
