AUCKLAND, November 10.

A fine of £2OO was imposed on Douglas Hipkins, aged 40, by the magistrate (Mr Hunt) to-day on a charge of bookmaking. The police said defendant was employed by the biggest bookmaker in Auckland,. He hack been fined £IOO earlier in the year.

Counsel said bis client wa s paid £6 a week.
