NEW PLYMOUTH, November 9.

A shop window, valued at £3O was smashed by the throwing of a large stone early this morning. William Riley, a relief worker, aged 47, surrendered to the police. He was charged with mischief, and was remanded for observation. .It- is alleged that Riley had a grievance regarding relief allowance. The window is in the shop of Deare's, Ltd., Mr Deare being chairman of the Hospital Board relief committee.
