FATALLY INJURES

MAN HIT BY RAILWAY ENGINE. (Pir Press Association — vopynght j AUCKLAND, November 9. A fatal accident occurred at Mount Albert railway station when Frederick Cecil Bjirst, carpenter, age(J 33, of Mount Albert, was struck by the engine of a passenger train and received head and internal injuries from which he died. The train was travelling from Henderson to the city, and had pulled into a siding to give thoroughfsuv to an outward train.

Hirst was walking along the siding towards the city, with his back to the train, when lie was struck by the engine and thrown about'six feet, being rendered unconscious. The train was travelling slowly. It was pulled up in about two carriage lengths. Hirst died at the hospital.
