WINOOKA ENTERED FOR. FACE.

NEW YORK; October 10.

It was learned at Laurel to-day, that Winooka was entered for the 2500 dollars added, six furlongs Baltimore Handicap for horses of fill'age's, on the Pimlico track on November 1. The book for this race closed with forty-six nomnations, 'including Gold Step, Jamestown, Pair by Pair, and Conamore. Mr Poison intimated, however, that Winooka is not likely to run in view of the proposed race with Equipoise, which would be only six days after, Winooka to-day breezed over throe furlongs in 36 sec., easily impressing the onlookers. Mr Poison - said he never remembers the horse training better for a race. He could have him on top form in four days from now.

MATCH WITH EQUIPOISE. NE WYORK, October 10.

Mr Whitney gave the Australian Press Association a statement that lie had discussed the matter of a match between Winooka and Equipoise with Mr Naylor. He felt that the race, which would he of international importance, should be at one of the classic distances, either a mile and a-quarter, or a mile and one eighth, and that the horses should carry stake weights. However, lie had consented to race at a mile, providing Winooka triumphed in Maryland. .. , .
