In the Dail Mr de Valera refused to establish the tribunal General Mulcahy had demanded to inquire into tho events leading to the allegation that he had conferred with Lord Hnilsham.

The Opposition indignantly fusilladed Mr de Valera with questions, Gene'ral Mulcahy asking whether the Government’s policy was to conceal the malicious slanderers, or if Mr do Valera

simply wanted “this dirty tool for mole dirty work.” Mr de Valera did not reply.
