AUCKLAND, May 25

Basil Hodgson, aged 25, a labourer, who escaped from the Waikime prison camp on April 21, and was recaptured in Auckland on May 15, pleaded guilty to-day to escaping, and also to twelve other charges of breaking and entering dwellings. The police produced a statement in which accused said that, as a result of previous treatment from a, certain warder, and treatment on April 21, ho decided, on the spur of tiny moment, to escape. He pleaded guilty Mindi->r 'strong yXeoivocatiort. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence on all charges.
