PORIRUA .SMASH INQUEST.

WELLINGTON, May 22.
An inquest on the victims of the T'drirua' crosaihg sniajfffi, : for the purpose of identification, was formally opened at the Magistrate’s iCourt this afternoon before Mr Gilbertson, J.P. After the necessary evidence had been given the inquest' was adjourned sine die.
YOUNC BOY DROWNED
WELLINGTON, May 22.
An inquest was held into the death of Ronald Frank Little, aged nine, whose body was recovered yesterday. The Coroner found that the boy, while playing beneath a pipe bridge, fell into the Hutt River, and was drowned.
R. P. Dun-ant described, the finding of the holly on a mud flat covered bv water at high tide, near the river mouth.
“It is cuite evident it was a pure accident,”' said the Con-oner in giving hi s verdict. He added that he had visited the pipe bridge, and found that there were no means of crossing l>encatli it.
