TEACHERS’ SALARIES
U.S. STREET DEMONSTRATION, CHICAGO, April 15. Teachers and students of the Chicago public schools. marched on Saturday in protest against pay days without pay. Loop traffic was at a standstill, as the procession was many blocks long. Teachers, pupils, and groups representing parents’ and teachers’ associations, trudged' the streets. Many teachers chose to join the demonstrators instead of calling at their rchools, where cheques; for 1,700,000 dollars awaited them, representing their pay> for the last week in j June, 1932. ' ■ ’
