BRISBANE, January 5.

A frightful shark tragedy occurred on the Strand beach. - at Townsville, when Stanley Loekaley, aged thirtyeight, was attacked by a monster in three feet of water, and was almost torn in halves. The shark’s first rush had completely disembowelled him immediately.
