The Presbyterian Church of Ross last Thiu-rsdtiy was filled with un luagcr ccugregat.-on on t.,e occasion of the induction of the Rev. L. Dewar, a licentiate of the 'Church. Worship was eoiidijctad .by the Rev. H. R. Fell, ALA., 8.D., Moderator of the 1-resby-tury, who put the prescribed questions aud delivered a. very solemn and moving address to the newly ordained minister. .i !li

Naylor, who also delivered a charge to the l congregation aftm ti’ge The choir of St. Andrew’s, Hokitika, journeyed down for tli.;i occhsion, rendering an anthem, aiid assisting with the singing of the hymns.' Elders, representing the sessions of Greymouth and Westport, were also present.

At the close of the impressive service, Mr Dewar and his wife were welcomed by the Mayor of Rcss (Mr J .Murdoch). Air Osmers, on behalf of the Church of England 1 ; Air Rowe for the* Bible Cli-iss movement in AVestland, and the Rfcv. Air Fell as mode.!--' ator of the Presbytery, all extended very cordial greetings to Air Dewai. 1 Air Naylor, who had acted as Alodioii.n,tor of Ross, since his arrival on the Coast expressed his pleasure in handing over the meeting to Mir Dewar, and his hope, in which all shared, was that the work of that evening would mark'la real advance in the work of thie Presbyterian Church in''Eolith Westland. Air Dewar thanked the speakers for the welcome- and expressed the pleasure with which he andl his wife had received their good wishes. He hoped that he would he able to teach and to learn -while among them, and that they would 'remember that he was there as their servant in "the things of 'God. During the evening'Air Alurdocli, on behalf of the people of Ross, made a presentation of a cheque to Air D. McClymont, wishing him every happiness in his new sphere of work. Air and Alns Alc'Clymont have left for Southland land will take with them the good wishes of many friends.
