Early this morning she- was able to give the name of a man who, she said, had thrown a can full of petrol through the window of the car and had-then flung a lighted match on it. When the fire started the woman, Mine. Mareelle Boutet, was garaging n. She was unconscious when rescued from the blazing vehicle. Her husband, who had run out ot the house on seeing the flames, drew the attention of the police to the s.ngiihir fact that cushions on the clrivin r seat had apparently been the centre of the conflagration. A few hours later Mine. Boutet recovered sufficiently to give her own account to tiie police. Sue declared Unit a man who she knew had set the car alight and had then run off. ,
The man unmet! was found this nio-n----ing. He is being closely interrogated, but lias flatly denied the terrible accusation. He has a burn on one of his hands. This, he declared, was - caused by, a petrol lighter wliicli caught fire while he avas filling it.
