AGAINST RUN OF 'SHARKS.
SYDNEY, November 19.
Schools of sharks are due 'to p\ss ■Sydney beaches within the.next three weeks, and surfers are warned againstventuring into deep water. A museum authority, Mr Gilbert Whitley, said yesterday that during November the shark's pui;su# the salmon which are migrating to life northern rivers to breed. The salmon, which start from ,couth of the continent, are r-eallv a blessing in disguise, said Mr "Whitley, because they draw thousands of -sharks from the coast during the surfing season. However, many of the inan-eate>-s remain, especially Blue Pointers and the tiger sharks, which have a weakness for the harbour and rts bays. M r Whitley’s information is supported by the fact that during the last few weeks more than thirty phar.k s have been captured off our beaches.
