SOUTHERN SUB-ASSOCIATION. DRAW FOR THE FIRST ROUND. The Southern Cricket Sub-Associa-tion met on Saturday evening when there were present Messrs S. Whitehead (Rulatapu), S'. Ogilvie (Ilimu), S. Fleming (Kanieri), and C. Reese. (Hokitika, and Ross). It was decided that the senior competition for the Keller Cup be con■ll./J to two rounds only, and the points in both senior and junior matches be three for a straight-out win, two for a win oil the first innings, one for a draw, and three for a forfeit. -Jr Reestei was appointed secretary, ar 1 it was decided to place on record the Sub-Association’s appreciation of the services of the retiring secretary (Mr C. J. King). The following selection committee for representative teams w!a,s appointed : —Messrs S. "Whitehead, H. Wells, and J. O’Connor. The Stab-Association was appointed a reclassification applications to be in the hands of the secretary by December 10. A recommendation was received from the Hokitika- Club that the 'SubAssociation break away from the West Coast Association, but after discussion, it wag decided that the secretary write to the parent body asking that more consideration be given to the sub-union in the future.
The secretary was also, instructed to write to Messrs W. E. Merritt, and J. Newman, the New Zealand representative players, both of whom it is understood are contemplating bringing teams to the Coast this season, in an endeavour to arrange a match with one or both. It was decided that the affiliation fee for clubs bo seniors ss, juniors 2s 6d. The draw for the remainder of the first round was made as follows: Nov., 27—Hokitika, v. Ross, at Ross; Rimu v. Kanieri, at R.imu; Ruatapu a bye. Dec. 4—Rimu v. R.uatapu, at Ruatapu ; Hokitika v. Kanieri, at Kanieri ; Ross a bye. Dec. 11—R oss v. Ruatapu. at Ruatapu; Hokitika v. Rimu, at Kokitika; Kanieri a bye. Dec. 18—Ross v. Kanieri, at Ross; Ruatapu v. Hokitika, at Hokitika; Rimu a. bye. •
