Th death took place at Wanganui yesterday morning, gf Mrs Q’Donneil. The deceased, who was bqrn ip Ireland about 80 years ago, lived for a considerable time in Rimu, and came to Cobden about twenty years ago, For the past four* years she had lived in Wanganui. Her husband predeceased her a number of years ago- She leaves two daughters, Mrs Lovegrove (Wanganui), and Mrs McAsse, and one son, James (Australia).
Mr and' Mrs J. Magee, of'Cinnamon Street, Reefton, celebrated their golden wedding on Monday, Mr and Mrs Maggee are natives of Ballarat, where they were mnried. They have been residents of Reefton for almost 25 years, with the exception of twelve months spent in the North Island. Mr •Magee was for many years an employee of the Globe mine. A family of six were able to voice their hearty congratulations to their parents. Mr and Mrs Magee were entertained by many friends and were the recipients of many congratulatory messages.

An outstanding feature at the cabaret lasu evening was the manner in winch the ice cream vendors carried out their duties. Loud praise could be heard on all sides on the quality of the ice cream, which was. supplied by the Rendezvous, Revell Street, iu is pleasing to note that/ the local made ice cream ranks as the finest in New Zealand.
The death occurred early yesterday morning, at the Grey River Hospital, cf Mr James Hines, a native of Kaikoura, aged 77 years. Deceased, who had been on the West Coast i’or about 45 years, and for the last 24 years at Ruru, had been in ill-health for the past four years, and had been in the hospital for three months. Deceased was a prominent axeman in his day. He worked: in the , Lake Brunner sawmill and of late years had been a launch proprietor at Ruru. His wife predeceased him 11 years ago, at Christ,church. He Is survived by two sons, James (Ruru) and John (Punakaiki), and one daughter, Mrs W.' Dales (Wanganui). ■;
