GENERAL STRIKE IN LANCASHIRE.

Apart from a few imills, where the employers are continuing the old wages, the stoppage of the Lancashire spinning industry is virtually complete. .

The Ministry of Labour’s conciliation o dicer (Mr Leggett) hurried to Manchester, but i s powerless until the spinning amalgamation have balloted among the operatives whether to continue or - to cease the strike. *

The result will be known by the week-end.. Failing an early settlement, a further 200,000 operatives will be idle owing to the enforced stoppage of the weaving section of the industry.
