SEIZURE INCURRED ON TRAIN.

s AUCKLAND, November 1. Following a heart attack, incurred whi'le travelling by train from Wellington, Mr F. G. Roussell, the general manager of the New Zealand Railways died, suddenly to-day at the home of his sifter, Mrs H. Jenkins, in Schofield' Street, ,Grey Lynn, five hour s after the arrival jof the train at Auckland.

The late M-r -Roussell intended joining the “Niagara.” to-night for Sydney "to make inquiries regarding the operation of the Australian railways on behalf of the New Zealand Railways Board. According to his relatives, Mr. Roussell had never complained of heart trouble before. He left Wellington in excellent health and spirits, occupyin a sleeper on the “limited.” During the night he had a seizure and he suffered great pain for several; hours. He was kept under constant observation by the car attendants, and the railway authorities despatched a message to. Auckland asking that medical assistance be obtained on the train's arrival. then greatly improved, and he was able to walk without assistance. H« proceeded straight to his sister’s home_ -and went to bed, k and,Dr Coldicutt visited him at about noon. He became worse later in the day, and Dr Coldicutt called in. Dr T. W. J. Johnson for consultation -purpose >. * Their services, however, were of no avail and Mr Roussell died at 2.40 p.m.

Mrs Roussell who was notified of her husband’s illness, is expected to arrive 'by train from Wellington tomorrow morning. '
