BOYS’ ADVENTURE
EXPEDITION TO ARCTIC CIRCLE. LONDON, October 26. An expedition that mad© special appeal to the adventurous type of boy returned to England a few weeks ago after an organised tour to land within the Arctic Circle. Surgeon-Command-er Levick, who was. with t Scott’s last expedition, originated the. Public Schools Exploring Club in the hope that it would! afford an opportunity for selected boys to' spend holidays in the wilds and to learn to fend for themselves. He believes that boys need hardening and he is hopeful that the club will turn out sturdy, self-reliant, and resourceful youths. The eight boys of the party returned physically fit, and' one of them speaking for the rest,* ©aid that while the trip had not been what is gecneiijlly known as a picnic, they were ail! in better form than if -.hey had spent the holiday loafing at th© seaside. Next year’s party will be longer and will go further north within the Arctic Circle.
