The finals in the West Coast Golf Championships were played to-day, in fine weather in the morning hut there was rain in the afternoon. The. Men’s Championship was won by A. K! Smith, the holder (Greymouth) from T. Park (Westport). ! Smith won bv Ihe good margin of 4up and 3to play. • , The Ladies’ Champiqnship was won by Mrs J. W. Hannan (Greymouth) from Mrs Walker/(Westport).

ROTORUA TOURNAMENT. ROTORUA, August 26.

The Rotorua Golf Club’s open touri nament concluded to-day in ideal golfing weather, when G. Tallis (TiSrangi) defeated F. Fryer (Napier) 6 and 5 in the open championship. The Thermal Cup was also won by a Titirangi Club player, L. : F. Murray, who beat i G. Napier (Whflkatane) five and four.

The tournament will be followed by the annual New Zealand Veterans Tqiirney, opening on Monday.
