FURTHER NUMBER AT HUNTLY. (By Telegraph—Ber Bress Association) HAMILTON, January 19. Further dismissal notices, totalling 15, were distributed among the miners yesterday at Glenafton and MacDonald mines. The total for the two mines is now 167. Before the dismissals were made 510 men were employed. After yesterday’s list takes effect there will he only 3-13. The miners in the district are now averaging only two days’ work a week. It is understood that a majority of the men involved in to-dav’s dismissals are residents of Muntly. This will greatly aggravate unemployment in the district. Recently, following the first dismissals a secret ballot was taken to decide whether the men would go out on strike. The result of the ballet will not he known until a conference with the mine owners shortly.
