DISAPPEARANCE REVEALED

CHRISTCHURCH, July 17.

The story of the disappearance ol th. takings at a Kaikoura boxing tournament on June 3 was told to a Mag strate to-day, when Leonard Carpenter, 28, a resident of Kaikoura pleaded guilty to the theft of a leather bag containing £39. the property of the Marlborough Boxing Association. The police said that the bag was stolen when the attention of the men in charge was diverted to a boxing bout. Later accused was arrested on another count and a search of his house revealed the bag. Accused was remanded for sentence.
