MAIL DRIVER KILLED
MOTOR-CAR CAPSIZES ON ICY GOAD.

Harry Saunders, a mail driver ot Fairlie, met- his death this afternoon through the car he was driving capsizing on an icy portion ot the road between the Grey Hills and Jlaldon station,‘some forty miles from Fairlie. He was aged between fifty and fifty-five and was a married man with a large family. 1 Tlie mail delivery to Hnklon station, a distance of forty-five miles, is weekly and Saunders left Fairlie with it at 11 a.m. to-day. At 4 paid Mr J. limes, owner of Haldon Station found Saunders dead on the road, some five miles from the station, with his car overturned. Constable MHu tosh proceeded- to tho spot and from his examination concluded that death must have been instantaneous.. An inquest will lie opened to-morrow morning.
