PROMOTION COSTS AND TOTAL SALES. WELLINGTON, July 14. ■ The Legislative Council recently ordered a return, on the motion of the Hon. W. W. Snodgrass, showing financial details of art unions authorised by the Minister of Internal Ati’ajrs. This has been presented, showing the following results :

Lucky Star Art Union, for the purpose of raising funds for the New Plymouth and Wanganui Aero Clubs—Received from tickets £28,-564 ; cost of promoting £8719 ; paid in prizes £4OOO ; net amount received by promoters £15,844. Black Cat Art Union, for providing funds for the Marlborough and Hawera Aero Clubs—Received from the sale of tickets £32,261; cost of promoting £9406; amount paid in prizes £4000; net amount received by the promoters £18,854.

Lucky Dog Art Union, for funds for the combined New Zealand Cricket Council and New Zealand Football Association—Received iron) sales of tickets £25,790 ;, cost of promoting £8389; amount paid in prizes £4OOO ; net amount received by promoters £13,400. Golden Key Art Union, for the purpose of raising funds for the Daunevirke and (Rotorua A. and I’. Associations—Amount received from sale of tickets £28,221; cost of promoting £8125 ; amount paid in prizes. £4OOO ; net amount received bv promote vs £16,095.
