DUNEDIN, July 15,
At the City Police Court to-day, before Mr J. IR. Bartholomew, S.M., Wohn •Milne was charged with keeping a common gaming house, and Peter 'Aleldrum was charged with being unlawfully on the premises. Both were remanded until Friday, bail being allowed, Milne on hjs own recognisance of £25, and Aleldrum on his own recognisance of £5.

MENTAL HOSPITAL MATRON
AUCKLAND, July 14
Grace Catherine Redman, assistant matron at the Auckland Mental Hospital was charged at Otahuhu with the negligent driving of a motor vehicle and causing the death of Francis J. Johnston, on May 1, at Westfield. She reserved her defence and was committed for trial. Ball was allowed.

TWO ARRESTS MADE
KAIKOURA, July 14
Two arrests were made this evening by Detective J. Finlay, of Christchurch, and Constable W._ APLeniian in connection with the safe-blowing incident at Mr- F. H. Flower’s store, Kaikoura, last. Sunday morning.
