“WIZARD” SMITH
TO POSTPONE N.Z. VISIT. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 29 ; It is not likely that Norman ‘’Wizard” Smith will make his attempt on the land speed record of 245 miles an hour at the Ninety Mile Beach until next summer. There was a suggestion that lie would bring bis car across from Sydney as soon as it was finished, some time next month, but the Auckland Automobile Racing Club. who luucbeen authorised to handle the attempt on the world record, now proposes to write to Mr Smith, and advise him not to come to New Zealand until next summer, preferably in January. The attempt, it is maintained, would be impossible in May.
