BOXING CLUB
The Hokitika Amateur Boxing and Gymnastic Club met for their annual meeting last evening. Present: Alessrs F. Al< Gregor (Chair), -J. Stafford, J. Johnson, 1). Breeze, E. Ballinger. AV. Havbittle, .). Atkinson. R. Furness. I). Dowell, R„ Collett, 0. Hahn, H. AL C’nul.son and Steietr.rv.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The President, Air AlcOregor, in the uir.ual report referred to the last
season’s inactivity, only one tourney being held due to the Secretary’s positen not being filled until Air Rest’s fortunate transfer hack to Hokitika. Hie Club was proud of the honours gained by Jack Atkinson in local hampionships and regretted that he should lie deprived of higher honours at the N.Z. Championships through a prained nnkhu Air Furness, his tutor, leserved great credit for his patient md skilful instruction. The Club was indebted to Referees Beban arid O’Neil or supervising at the tourneys, the Grey Association and Secretary, Fred Baillie, for assistance, the local Doctor* Hopkins and Haves, the generous donors of medals and trophies, and the local press for numerous considerations. He also explained how Air Heinz had very generously met the Club with the Gymnasium rental.—Receive d,
The Treasurer reported a credit bal» inco of £24 9s lid. The President moved that a letter of sympathy be forwarded to they re latives of the late Mr AA r lngham. Carried with members standing. The following officers were elected for the coming year. Patron—Air TT. Al. Coulson. President—Air F. AtcGregor. Vice-Presidents- Alessrs AV. E AVil’iams and J. J. Breeze. Secretary- Air IS. Best. Treasurer —Air E. Ballinger. Hon. Surgeons—Drs Hopkins and Hayes. Instructors—Alessrs R. Furness and R. Collett. A suggestion to hold a tourney -hi the empty swimming baths met with general approval. It was decided that Air D. Breeze report to next meeting the approximate cost of a. temporary olatform and the Secretary interview the Baths Committee. It was decided to meet again shortly after Easter.
