A demand that tlie President call a s.;:eeial session of Congress to deal with the unemployment, as the result of the Department of Commerce’s announcement that there were 0.000.0'10 persons unemployed in January; was made by Senator Borah to-day. The so-called ‘‘Progressive” Senators of both parties supported Senator Borah, claiming that the figures indicated that twenty million persons, comprising the families oi those unemployed, are suffering from the situation. The Progressive Group gives the warning that: ‘‘To wait until Congress is convened for its regular sitting next December, will be too late io avert the worst disaster in our history. - '
