No action is to be taken by Cabinet concerning the requests made to the Minister of Justice for the release of Abraham Salaman, Indian herbal int, sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment for the manslaughter of a boy-, who was taken to . him for treatment. This decision was made by Cabinet to-day, and announced bv the Acting Prime Minister this evening., Mr Ransom said that the. petitions and letters written by persons who desired the release of Salaman had received careful attention. However, it had been decided that the question was not one for Cabinet, as prisoner had open to him the course, prescribed by law. and he could appeal in the proper way. In view o{ the fact that it was considered any appeal should be made to. the Court, Cabinet had declined to take any action. .
