A BANKRUPTCY,

AUCKLAND, October 24
An order for the adjudication of Ewan William Alison, the younger, of Auckland, solicitor, and his -wife Winnie Alison as bankrupts, was made by the Supreme Court to-day.. The total liabilities in the estate amount to £lb'o,~ tXK) and assets are valued at over £150,000. The summons for adjudication came before the Court in July and proceedings having been launched by a woman who had a mortgage of £SOO over one of the properties. The summons.. had been adjourned to enable the debtors to realise on their propertied, but today it was stated the debtor would offer no objection to.the order. MAGISTRATE’S COURT. NEW PLYMOUTH, Octooer 22. Claud H. Taylor, farmer, Urenui, was convicted and fined £5 with costs £1 10s, lor having sheepskins in his possession with the ear removed. GISBORNE, October 24
On a charge of frequenting the' street for the purpose of betting,”Robert Burt pleaded guilty to-day, and was fined £25 by Mr P. H. Harper, Magistrate. In inflicting the fine , lie said that accused was apparently only operating in a small way, and it was his first offence. MAN FOUND DEAD, WANG ANTjf, :: October' 24.' - About noon, a man was found dead in the bedroom of a boarding house where he had booked a fortnight ago. There was a pool of blood oh the fioofi ’ A doctor certified that death was due to an internal complaint; Papers found on the body indicated that lie had been travelling round the country selling needles, His name was A, J. Keogan, and he was about 57 years of age.
