HAWKE CUP. (By Telegraph—Press Association). (PALMERSTON N., Dec. 10. A cricket match for the Hawke Cup between Manawatu (holders) and Hawke’s Bay (challengers), commenced this morning in fine weather. Hawke’s Bay won the toss and batted and have lost three wickets for twelve runs. Roaney and Lowry batted carefully 20 being scored after 40 minutes. When the total was 35, Lowry snicked one from MeVic-ar and Norris accepted the chance. Shepherd was the next batsman. Roaney alter .making 28 was caught easily by Greig. Elliott did not last long being caught by Ongley. The next batsman was O’Brien. The details at the luncheon ad-ojin-x'eeiit were as follows: HAWKE’S TTAY—lst Innings.
