cn'der the'will of the late Geo. Syme, tne following bequests were made to charitable and social services. Wellington Presbyterian Orphanage and Social Service Assn. £2OO. Presbyterian Sunday School, Howera, £100; Presbyterian Aged Ministers’ Fund, £100; Jubilee Institute for the Blind, —uckland, £100; Hawera Hospital Board, £250; Salvation Army Boys’ Home, Elthain, £100; Hawera Borough' £SOO (to be applied for purposes of utility or ornamentation). RED RAIN. .HAWERA, Nov. 29. Heavy rain tinged with red fell at Okaiawa on Tuesday evening on practically every farm in the vicinity. Evidence was found of the phenomenon. A rust like deposit was left on concrete paths and roofs of houses. Milk cans standing in the open were streaked with red. Evidence of the presence oi this red substance in recent rains have been found also in Hawera. BISHOP CLEARY ILL. AUCKLAND, Nov. 28. Prayers are being offered throughout the diocese for the recovery of Bishop Cleary, who is seriously ill in the Mater Misericortliae Hospital. There is a slight improvement in-his-condition to-day. ,
