There is practically no prospect of those who succeed in the matriculation examination this year receiving probationerships, according to a statement made by the Chairman, at to-day’s meeting of Cnntfcrlmry Education Board. He said the standard now had been raised, so that those who mati iculated this year must he prepared to put in another year’s study in order to get a leaving certificate. This year there would he a sufficient number holding higher leaving certificates to fill all the positions ofieiing.
