A SENTENCE: (By Telegraph—Press Association). AVELLINGTON, May 13. Having pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, valued at. .Cl 1 6s 6d, Arthur Henry William Bovim, aged 21, was sentenced by the Chief Justice to two years Borstal to be concurrent with the term he is serving. His Honour regarded Bevan as the tool of someone else. SENTIENCE FOR, ASSAULT. AVELLINGTON, May 13. Sentence was passed to-day. by the Chief Justice on James Smith, a young man found guilty, of assault as to cause bodily harm, the case arising out of a disturbance. in a house in Cuba Street. during which a man was struck on the head with a bottle. Nine months hard labour was imposed, His Honour taking into consideration that Smith had been in custody for three and a half months awaiting trial.
