NEW PLANES. FOII USE WITH SUBMARINES. '(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph— Copyright). LONDON, May .10. A closely-kept Air Ministry secret, which will be revealed at the International Aero Exhibition at Olympia in July, is a small aeroplane specially constructed to fit to a submarine. Experiments have been carried out for years to perfect the machine, and evolve a method of carrying it in a submarine without greatly altering its construction. Its chief value is that the machine can be transported to desired places with complete secrecy and it will be invaluable for, fleet cooperation. CIVIL AVIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, May 13. In reply ta question whether Hie Government intended assisting civil aviation, Sir Joseph Ward said the time had not vet arrived when aviation could be adopted as a defence system.
