REBELS ENTER, ROYAL palace. (United Press Association—B.v Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON,, Jan. 17. The latest information from authoritative circles in London reiterates that Amanullah is at Khaiulalmr. i Moscoav reports state it is learned by a wireless message from Kabul that Amanullah abdicated. Rebel troops surrounded the Royal residence, whereupon Inayatullah abdicated on condition that he and his family were guaranteed safety, upon which the rebel leader Bachaisalceo entered the Royal Palace. His supporters announce that he is assuming supreme power under tne title of Khabubullnh Ghazi. Coincident with this the “Daily Express’s” Karachi correspondent announces that Amanullah raised a standard over the Royal residence at Kliandnhar, and is gathering support in order to attack the rebels who havecaptured Kabul. The “Daily Express” points out that history thus rejiented itselt —Afghanistan is again ruled from two cities, Kabul and Kandahar. The “Daily Express” correspondent adds: Amanullah has evidently seized on the victory of the rebels and consequent defeat of his Royal brother to consider himself once again the only rightful ruler of the country. He is assisted by the strong personality oT his wife, with a staunch though at present small following, and may yet reimpose his will on Afghanistan - by striking an effective blow at the rebels while they are disorganised by vietory - i 1' KING’S CONDITION. (Received this day at 10.iff*, a.m.) LONDON, January IS. The King had a fairly good night and there is little change in his condition. ■ ~ The Queen spent the day at Windsor. " It is believed to he in connection with a plan as soon as possible to remove the King there in the hope that a change of surroundings will accelorlate his recovery. Convalescence is still some way off, and it is impossible to predict when he will he sufficiently recovered to permit his Vcmovnl from O palace. The most satisfactory feature is that the King is now obtaining the necessary nourishment and is taking food in a normal manner, but is a very weak invalid.
