As proof of the King’s brightei spirits the “ Evening Standard ” diarist recounts that when his Majesty returned to his bedroom after his lirst removal to another room on nth January, Dr. Dawson asked him how In* enjoyed the change. His Majesty smilingly replied: “It wasn’t exactly picking buttercups.”
