Chicago American Legion endorses Air Conlidge’s naval programme. National Commander Paul AlcNautt said in iin address, it is America’s answer to the failure of the Geneva conference. It is the only answer the other nations of the world understand.

New York “ Times ” Washington correspondent staes fifteen Republican Senators who breakfasted with Mr Coolidge to-day carried away the impression that t!r<* President appears to he inclined to make another effort to bring United States into membership of the World Court. The President discussed the legislative programme with them and they learned that Mr Coolidge was nnxoius to round out his presidential career with the ratification of the Kellogg Pact, the enactment of it fifteen-cruiser bill, and arrangement with powers signatory to the World Court. A protocol whereby the obstacle to American adherence offered by the Senate’s reservations (cabled on 9th Fohurary, 1027) would he overcome. It was apparent to certain of the senatorial guests that to bring the government to the World Court’s membership was a matter dear to I'm* President’s heart. I here* was no disclosure to indicate that exchanges for overcoming the Senate reservation difficulties had been initiated with the powers, but a knowledge ol Lbt* President’s manner oil doing things gives colour to the surmise that negotiations already are in progress.
