SOUTH CANTERBURY J.C. MEETING. __ ,:d [By Telegraph, Per Press Association.] TIMARU, November 23. The South Canterbury Jockey Club’s Summer Meeting opened to-day in fine weather. The track was fast. The totalisator registered £8835, compared with £11,3855, for the corresponding day of last year. Results:—
Teschemaker Handicap.—(l) First Sight 1, (2) Battle Colours 2, (3) Prickles 3. Won- by a length. Time 2.5 1-5. Tycho Hack Handicap.—(l) First Raid 1, (2) Campanella 2, (5) Arrowy 3. Great Star finished first, hut was unable to draw weight, and was disqualified. Time 1.13 4-5.
President’s Handicap.—(-J) Amor 1, (2) Malmsey 2, (1) Quarterdeck 3. Won by half a length. Time* 1.41. Maiden Plate.—(lo) Sweet Refrain 1, (l) Singer 2, (4) Uproar 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.14 1-5. Kerry town Handicap.—(4) Bank Draft 1, (5) Arrowy 2, ((5) Tardy 3. Won by a length and a-half. Timo 1.26 1-5.
Flying Handicap.—(l) Gav; Sonnet 1, (4) Money Mine 2, (3) Some Rose 3. Won by two lengths. Time 1.12 2-5.
