" Flapper Wives,” a So U nick Seven Act Production, which comes to the Princess Theatre, next Tuesday marks the return to the screen ol that popular artiste, A lay. Allison, who so thoroughly endeared herself to everyone a few years ago, when she appeared with unqualified success opposite that splendid actor, Harold Lockwood. She excels in a role that gives ample scope for her undoubted dramatic ability. Stephen Carey, a real man, and incidentally rector of a iashiouahle church clashes with his narrowminded churchmen, they finally force him to resign. He believes that the tangled affairs of men and women can be straightened out by Faith, and his chance to try out comes when he leaves the -church. Going to work in the garage of a pal and war time companion, one Tim Callahan, the domestic trouble he sees around him shakes his beliefs to a great extent. On the nightof the meeting of the Vestrmen whom Stephen was compelled to resign, his courage is defended by Claudia Bigelow. wife of Charles Bigelow, a narrowminded aristocrat and a moving powey in the church. Stephen later advises Claudia tu return to her husband, who no longer wishes for divorce, hut Claudia riduses, confessing that she cannot endure Bigelow any longer, and admitting to Stephen her love for him. Sadie the wife of Tim Callahan, Stephen's partner in the garage, prefers jazzing to cooking, and after a quarrel with her husband, she goes out with Tony, a would-be sport, in his ear. The ear breaks clown in midst of a terrific thunderstorm, and they have to obtain a lift hack to town. Meanwhile, Tim is raging round the home, and Stephen hearing him, goes to enquire the trouble, and when he learns the state of affairs, he counsels Tim. that it is at times like this that marriages are made or unmade, advising him to he gentle with his wife, which advice he follows on her return, to her great astonishment and their resultant reconciliation. A two-reel comedy, gazette and travelogue support this big star. Miss Giese will render new and appropriate music.
