AIADGE EVANS AND “THE IRON CLAW” TO-NIGHT.
Pollards will present to-night, in the Princess Theatre a melo-dramu of more than usual .strength, “The Little Dnchtss,” which has for its central figure, the marvellous child actress, Madge Evans. This child wonder plays the part of Geraldine Gaimieliael, or as slio is called, Jerry. On the death of her mother, sooner ihan go to the orphan asylum, she runs away and joins a circus. This escapade is made the means of introducing some vivid ami original touches into the story Tracked down as the grandalighter of the Earl of Carnimoro, she is taken to the Castle in England. She is inst died as his grandchild and hoire- s, and ir, is through her efforts that the grim tragedy that has overshadow d the Carnimore fain-ly is cleared np. Nothing so strong in praise can be said of the acting of Ala dire Evans. Plenty of child stars are aide to express cheerful moods, but it is seldom that a child is seen who can portray the most powerful emotion, and this latter is the remarkable gift of this child wonder. She dreams of it. plans for it and then comes to her the thought that her own silence means she is deceiving her husband, and that, the waiting soul may suffer by it. She decides 10 tell him all. .81m does so, and she learns that.'her husband is the type of man she had not- suspected.
