COMMERCIAL.

DECLINE OF FRANC.

BY CABLE—PKESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT

NEW YORK, June 3. The exchanges for the past week have been slowly declining. The sterling reached 432£ cents, representing a nett loss of two and a half cents. The franc touched 5 1-10 cents, suffering a net decline in excess of three cents. Bankers attribute this weakness to the French political crisis and the reported attack of the Premier-elect (M. Herriot) upon the terms of the Morgan credit to the Bank of France. This, though subsequently denied, nevertheless served to embarrass the market.
