Tlie Times Ostend correspondent says that although an Allied agreement has not yet be«n reached with regard to the application of the experts' proposals, progress is unloubtedly being made in connection therewith The conferences which MM. Thettftts and Hymans have had with M. Poincare and Mr. MaeDonald seem to have? done much to- clonr the air. The Belgian Ministers arrived at Ostend in the afternoon from London.
M. Theums said: "We discussed the broad line? of the reparations problem in the light of the experts' plan. It is indispensable that there should he goodwill, and it is evident that Mr MaeDonald is animated by an undeniable desire to reach an agreement He does not conceal his sympathies with France. We return favourably impressed."
. ,M- Hymans, when asked if an interAilied conference may be looked for in v« nf ar f"tllre» replied: "That is a difficult question to answer There is certainly Allied agreement at the moment, and judging by the conversations I had such a conference may be nearer th-an many think." Both Ministers declared that strict secrecy with regard to what transpired at Chequers was most essential in the interests of Allied unity.—Times
