SYDNEY, Jan. 4. The buildings erected in the metropolitan area during 1923 numbered 10,450 and cost £10,133,000, a record so far as cost is concerned. In 1914 tnere were 10,546 new erections, at an average cost of £642, while the average cost last year was £969, an increase of 51 per cent.
