HOODLUMS.

CAUSE OF SERIOUS OFFENCE.

(BY TELEGEAPH —T">EBS ASSOCIATION.J AUCKLAND, Jan. 2.

In the early hours of New Year's Day hoodlums annoyed a Chinese in a fruit shop at Milford, Takapuna, with the result that Jimmy Chee was arrested on a charge of stabbing Arthur Bestie, a young man, who is in hospital with a severe wound in one hand. As far as is known, Bestie was not connected with the hoodlums who annoyed the Chinese. Subsequently the hoodlums raided the Chinese shop and smashed a plate glass window, show cases, and the door. They also damaged a quantity of fruit.
