TOKIO, Dec. 28. _ me Regent s assailant proves to he Daisuke Namba, aged 25, a student at Wasecla University, whose circumstances compelled him to work as a labourer. He was interested in Communism. He. declared that he had no associates. Namba was seriously injured by the crowd, which seized him before the police effected -his arrest. M. Goto is reported to have resigned, assuming responsibility for the attack. M. Goto has been accused since his invitation to M. Jbffe to come to Japan of having Socialistic tendencies. M". Goto's residence and the Socialist centres are closely guarded for fear of an anti-Socialist outbreak.—Reuter. !
