SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW SALE. I The New Zealand Loan and Mercan- j tile Agency Co., Ltd., Wellington, report : The usual sale of. hides, skins and j tallow was • held on Friday by the ' various brokers. A fair catalogue of all j classes was offered to a full attendance j of exporters, fellmongers, tanners, and j the "local trade. Values for all dry sheepskins were about on a par with last side. In sympathy with the Australian market, hides showed a further decline. Heavies were down id, light and medium-weight id to lower, kip and yearlings were on a par, while calf were' slightly easier. Tallow was in good demand, and sold up to 31s per cwt. Following is the range of prices: Sheepskins—Half bred 9*d to llfd, ; fine crossbred 9|d to 12d, medium to ' coarse crossbred 'B^d to 9£d, short' to half-wool 6d to B,d, lambs 6|d to lOfd, . dead and damaged crossbred 6d to B|d, inferior and badly damaged l|d to 6jfd, pelts 2Jd to 7£d, damp, salted and green 4s to 8s 9d, lambs (salted) 3s 7d to 6s "'3d- , v „i Hides—Ox heavy (591b and over) i d to lOd, ox medium (501b to 581b) 6d to to BJd, ox' lieht (491b and under) 4-Jd to 6^d, cut, slippy and inferior-3£d to 7§d, cow heavy (551b and over) 5d to 7|d, cow medium (421b to 451b) 4jd to | 7£d, cow light (under 421b) 4fd to SM. cut, slippy and inferior 2Jd to 4-|d, bull stag U'd to 3|d, yearlings (Illb to 321b). 3£d to 7^d, calf medium to good (up to IMb) 9d to lld, calf damaged (up to 101b) 2d to Bd. _ .
