DIXON BANNER COMPETITION

The children of the Tawhiti school gathered together on Friday .afteonoon to witness the presentation of the prizes won in collection with the Dixon Banner competition. Mr. Duncan, sec-reta-ry of the school committee, made the presentation. He explained that Mr. Dixon had kindly consented to make the presentation on the previous Tuesday, but owing to the difficulty of getting hold of Bailey, the cupwinner, the matter had been postponed. After making reference to the fine per-, formance put up by Tawhiti School, Mr. Duncan handed to Clifford Bailey a fine silver cup, on which was engraved a list of his achievements. The other prizes \rere: Louis Robinson, silver medal;-David.Ekdahl, two orders . for goods, each valued 10s 6d ; Clif. Bailey, order for goods.
