He recalls the promises to the fighting men, and asks how they have been fulfilled. H« states that about 5000 ex-officers are still seeking work. A hundred thousand wholly or partially-disabled ex-service men are forced to look to charity to supplement their exiguous pensions, while 400,000 capable of working are unable to find it.'
