Th© liner Carpentaria is to leave Lyttelton to-morrow evening for New Plymouth direct, where she is expected the following night. The vessel, which is to load 14,000 freight carcasses of frozen meat from the Waitara works , besides a small quantity of general cargo, will probably complete loading late on Tuesday and sail on Wednesday. Being Jafe in crossing the Manukau bar, the Ra#awa did not reach New Plymouth till 9.15 a.m. yesterday. Besides passengers she brought 120 tons of general cargo from Onehunga, and sailed on the return passage last night. The vessel is due back to-morrow morning. ' The steamer Waimarino is due at Napier on January 20 from Pacific j Coast ports. Alter partly discharger^, at Na Pier> the vessel will go to Wellington, where she is due on January 25. Tlie Waimarino will put out the remainder of her cargo at New Plymouth, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She should be at Wellington about the 11th, and sails on the 13th for Melbourne direct.
