♦ INTERESTING COMPARISONS. We are indebted to Mr. Stuart Macdonald, Argyle Street, for the following comparisons of rainfall for the year just ended, as registered by him and those taken at Tokaora and at the Hawera hatcheries: —

This gives a differenced in favour of Argyle Street of 7.1*5 inches more than lokaora and 5.84 inches more than at the hatcheries. * iT he number <>f days on which rain ieu at Argyle Street was 172, against 159 at Tokaora and 174 at the hatcheries. The postmaster advises that the rainfall for the month of December was 3.27 inches.
